Do I need to travel to China to source there?
No. Many projects run remotely, with HOCA handling supplier contact, verification and sampling. Travel helps most when tooling, technical detail or a long-term relationship is involved, and the Canton Fair is the efficient way to compress many supplier meetings into a few days.
How do you check a supplier is a real manufacturer?
We review business registration and scope, ask for production evidence and capability detail in Chinese, cross-check what is claimed against what is shown, and where warranted arrange a factory visit or third-party inspection.
What is the Canton Fair and when is it held?
The China Import and Export Fair, known as the Canton Fair, is held in Guangzhou in spring and autumn each year and is organised in three phases by product category. Current dates and category information are published on the official Canton Fair website.
Can you work with a supplier we already use?
Yes. A common engagement is reviewing an existing supplier relationship — re-quoting the specification, clarifying terms in Chinese, and putting quality checkpoints in place — rather than replacing the supplier.
